Agents draft. Your team signs off
Specs, pull requests and release notes from your agents go to the people who sign them off, stage by stage.
Work is moving from making to reviewing
Agents made each person faster, but not the team: a spec still has to get past product, design and QA, in threads, pings and waiting on someone.
Comment, suggest and sign off on the same version
Product, design and QA read the spec in one place, and each comment sits on the line it is about.
Workspaces with more than ten seats can switch from card to invoice. The invoice is due 30 days after it is issued, and the billing owner gets a reminder a week before.

A column for each stage, a named reviewer on each, and anything stuck says so.

November: teams can pay by invoice
Workspaces with more than ten seats can now pay by invoice instead of by card.
Invoices are due 30 days after the end of the month, and the billing owner gets a reminder a week before.
If an invoice is two weeks late, new seats pause until it is paid. Nothing else changes.
- Their sign-off moves it on
- Your team’s notes stay internal

Questions we get asked
Can an agent approve its own work?
No. Only people approve. An agent can send versions in and read the comments over MCP, but it can never decide.
Which agents work with it?
Any agent that speaks MCP, such as Claude Code, Cursor and Codex. Pull requests come in from GitHub, and anything else by email or upload.
Where is our code kept?
On GitHub, where it is now. Bateson keeps the pull request’s summary, its checks and the decision. Bateson Cloud runs in the EU.
Do reviewers pay or need training?
No. Reviewers open a link and decide, on a phone too. Clients and other outside reviewers sign off without an account. Reviewers and guests never pay.
Do we have to use AI?
No. Bateson reviews work whoever made it: a person, an agent, a script or an outside party.
Does it replace GitHub or Google Docs?
No. Work is still made where it is made today. Bateson is the step where it is reviewed, and the decision goes back to where the work came from.
Can we host it ourselves?
Yes, for free, with every feature. The code is public under the AGPL. A Docker image and a guide arrive with the public launch.
